Severn-Lamb extends product range with Piaggio Commercial Vehicle dealership
Specialist UK transport engineering systems manufacturer Severn-Lamb has added further to its product range by taking on one of the UK dealerships for Piaggio Commercial Vehicles

The Piaggio Group is a global company and a leading European manufacturer of scooters and motorcycles, owning well-known brands such as Vespa, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi. The group is also a leader in the commercial vehicle market, offering a range of compact, three and four wheeled vehicles which are now available from Severn-Lamb. And the company is converting them for operation in a wide range of uses at a variety of venues using their world renowned specialist design and build conversion skills and expertise.
The Piaggio vehicles available from Severn-Lamb cover three different models, including the three wheeled Ape and four wheeled Porter and Quargo and Severn-Lamb is providing conversions on all models depending on customer requirements. The Ape, for example, can be converted into mobile units selling hot and cold drinks, ice cream, hot dogs or merchandise, to name but a few possible uses, while the larger Porter and Quargo models can be used as maintenance or work vehicles.
All vehicles in the range offer low running costs, low carbon outputs and minimal noise levels, as well as excellent reliability. The Ape range has a choice of four different models, the 50, TM, Classic and Calessino, featuring various engine options which include two and four stroke diesel and petrol power units, along with an electric option in the Ape Calessino. The light, agile Ape vehicles are also available in three different 'body' styles, namely the platform, tipper and van, all of which offer versatile options for specific uses, while compact dimensions and a small turning circle enable each model to access areas inaccessible to other commercial vehicles.
Also offering reliability, practicality and economical running costs, the Porter also offers compact dimensions, a load carrying capacity of up to 850kg and a turning circle of just 3.7m which is unbeaten by any other vehicle in its class. With flat platform, chassis cab and van body options, engine choices include petrol and diesel as well as two bifuel options with petrol/LPG and petrol/CNG, while an electric version is also available.
The Quargo also offers platform, tipper and van options with specifications and usage solutions similar to the Porter.

Severn-Lamb will also carry a comprehensive stock of spare parts for the Piaggio vehicles and will thus be able to provide a fast, reliable and local support service, backed up by a two year warranty. A team of mobile engineers is also in place to back up all after sales service requirements.
