Pregis Ensures Safe Transit Of Charitable Donations

Pregis Protective Packaging Europe is donating a range of its specialist protection solutions to the UK charity In Kind Direct to enable it to safely send valuable supplies to other charities.
In Kind Direct works with a host of leading companies, such as Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Kimberly Clark, Bosch and Argos, taking any unwanted or surplus stock, and distributing it to UK charities working both at home and overseas. The products, which include everything from toiletries to tableware, are all everyday items that are vital for charities to be able to run their organisations. Receiving these items frees up valuable funds that the charities can then direct to their core operations.
Since being founded in 1996 by HRH The Prince of Wales, In Kind Direct has redistributed goods worth around £130 million from over 850 companies to more than 5,500 charities.
Ensuring the goods arrive safely, particularly fragile items such as pottery, is essential. Through its UK business Jiffy Packaging, Pregis has supplied in excess of £156,000 worth of material over the past 15 years to In Kind Direct, including bubble and foam products and Jiffy bags, for the effective protection of products during distribution.
"Without the appropriate packaging, we really couldn't do our job effectively," comments In Kind Direct's Chief Executive Robin Boles. "We are extremely grateful to Pregis for their continuing generosity which means our charity partners are able to get the full benefit from all the donated goods delivered straight to their doors."
Pregis's packaging foam is available in polyethylene and polypropylene in a variety of thicknesses and densities, making it extremely versatile and suitable for a multitude of applications from delicate china to concrete blocks, furniture to consumer electronics, and all items requiring gentle cushioning or interleaving protection.
The company's air bubble film offers an economical, effective solution for void filling, interleaving, wrapping and cushioning protection with a range of high quality, small and large bubble products including co-extruded films and converted products. Anti-static and laminated products are also available.
