Pironet NDH AG expands into design, development, integration and remote operation of private clouds

Pironet NDH AG is continuing to extend its range of business activities in the rapidly growing market for cloud computing. Under the brand name My Business Cloud, the group now includes consultancy, solutions and services for so-called ‘private clouds’. Pironet NDH will be supporting customers in the upper SME bracket as well as major corporations in designing and developing individual IT and cloud systems to be run on the customers’ own servers. In preparation for this expansion, the parent company has extended the structural organisation at its existing subsidiary Pironet NDH Datacenter GmbH and also founded a new one – Pironet NDH Enterprise Solutions GmbH.
Teams of consultants and integration experts already busy on customer projects
Pironet NDH has recruited a number of acknowledged experts to manage its new business venture. Experienced consultant and integration specialist Thorsten Göbel and storage/data centre experts Katharina Gülpen and Jan Dilthey are in charge of all aspects of the new offerings. They lead a well-balanced team of consultants, project managers, system architects and Citrix specialists who have extensive expertise in their respective fields and are already busy implementing the first batch of projects.
Strengthening of market position in the future ‘cloud economy’
With this latest expansion of its portfolio, Pironet NDH has recognised the trend towards local cloud infrastructures – the industry association Bitkom has forecast that private clouds are a major driver in the cloud sector. “For many companies, private clouds are an important step towards service-oriented IT that is fit for future challenges,” says Udo Faulhaber, sales director for the outsourcing and cloud portfolio at Pironet NDH. “With My Business Cloud, our customers can now profit from the cloud and data centre expertise of Pironet NDH in the design and development of their own systems. With the new service offerings, we want to bring our many years of experience to bear for the benefit of our customers and to further strengthen our market position in the coming cloud economy.”
Hybrid cloud solutions consisting of internally and externally operated IT
Faulhaber describes the holistic service concept that is central to the Pironet NDH cloud strategy: “For many years now, we have been providing high-quality business software and comprehensive IT resources from our central Pironet NDH data centre under the Business Cloud brand; My Business Cloud has been designed to complement this as a framework for local solutions at the customer’s own premises.” From now on, Pironet NDH customers will be able to use individual cloud systems in their own data centre as well as cloud services from the provider’s central business cloud – or indeed to opt for hybrid cloud solutions consisting of both externally and internally operated IT. Companies can, for example, utilize the latest office software or even a complete virtual desktop in a software as a service model. Highly sensitive systems and data (e.g. those belonging to the R&D or HR departments) remain under the direct supervision of the customer in his local My Business Cloud environment.
Upon completion of a project, the customer may choose to allow Pironet NDH remote access and operating permission for the system in his data centre or to subscribe to further Pironet NDH services such as an user help desk for all end user enquiries .
Smooth transition to a service-oriented IT landscape
“The arrival of cloud computing represents a paradigm shift for large parts of a company’s ICT infrastructure,” explains Udo Faulhaber. “IT managers have to reassess and restructure their information technology according to criteria such as standardisation, mobility, security and cost efficiency. In the course of our future business activities, we want to guide customers carefully through this process and, by means of our business cloud solutions, offer them customised and smooth transitions to modern, service-oriented IT landscapes.”
