Autodrop Pipettes

(PresseBox) (Norderstedt, ) Right on time for the Hanover Fair in April 2010 (Hall 6/booth E1) microdrop Technologies GmbH has developed a new pipette for fluids in the range of pico- to nanoliter. By maintaining the proofed advantages like good cleaning behaviour and the possibility of fast liquid changes some new, very interesting properties were added. The pipette is designed for Life Science and other material deposition application.

The new pipette AD-K-901 is based on piezodriven inkjet printing technology - like the other pipettes from the product range of microdrop Technologies GmbH. The liquid can now be picked up in two ways. It can be aspirated through the nozzle tip in the glass capillary or it can be filled via the tubing from the back. The storage volume by nozzle tip aspiration is 37,5µl with a dead volume of about 14µm. The smallest droplets which will be emitted from the nozzle will be dispensed contactless. The single droplet volumes from 20picoliter (pl) to 180pl.

Another innovation is the using of a transparent body. The filling level is well readable at any time. The glass capillary inside is designed extra long which enables a dipping depths into a microtiter plates up to 9,5mm. The diameter of the nozzle tip of 1mm enables even a dipping into a 384well plate.

With only a few steps the change of the pipettes with contacting, centring device and fixing are completed. Additionally the possibility of exchanging the glass capillary with droplet generator by oneself is given. The new pipette AD-K-901 can be integrated in established systems or be used in combination with a positioning unit of microdrop Technologies GmbH.
