Meierhöfer has longtime leadership experience and exemplary qualifications for this newly created position. He grew up in the surroundings of fruit and vegetable trade. After having completed vocational training as a fruit and vegetable wholesaler, Meierhöfer studied at the Wiesbaden university of applied sciences. His career then lead him to the Tengelmann Group as Management Trainee, and later to Johnson & Johnson, Roland Berger, and lastly to Atlanta AG (now Univeg), a leading European retailer for fruits and vegetables. Thanks to his excellent knowledge in the field of fruits and vegetables and the related supply chain, Meierhöfer is thouroughly acquainted with the logistical processes and thus with IFCO's core business.
Until the end of 2010, Meierhöfer will be supported by Jürg Geiger, managing director of IFCO SYSTEMS Switzerland. The close cooperation between Geiger and Meierhöfer will assure a smooth transition for IFCO's customers in the German market.
Meierhöfer is based at IFCO's corporate headquarters in Pullach and reports directly to Karl Pohler, CEO of IFCO.
