ENTSO-E invites expressions of interest to participate in Forward Markets and Balancing Network Code Advisory Groups

In order to engage comprehensively and transparently with all interested parties, ENTSO-E publishes a letter inviting expressions of interest, to participate in a Forward Markets Network Code Advisory Group and Balancing Network Code Advisory Group. The letter outlines ENTSO-E's intention to create two stakeholder advisory groups on these issues and invites expressions of interest by 20 August 2012.
The invitation letter outlines that members of the Stakeholder Advisory Groups will include participants representing all relevant parts of the industry as well as consumers. It is important that group members have a detailed understanding of issues relating to the respective network code. All expressions of interest will be considered and the composition of groups will be determined to ensure that groups are representative of a wide range of the industry as well as consumers. Places are limited and we cannot guarantee that all parties that express an interest will be able to participate.
ENTSO-E will publish the final stakeholder group members on our website by early September. All information related to the meetings will be made publically available via the dedicated network code section of the ENTSO-E website.
The stakeholder advisory groups will meet throughout the process of developing the network codes. The frequency of meetings will be agreed with the participants. Members of the Stakeholder Advisory Groups, will be in a position to provide advice on the content of the codes, critique drafts and communicate the views of their members to ENTSO-E (and vice versa).
Expressions of interest in attending one or both groups should be submitted via email to Ana.Pravica@entsoe.eu by 20 August 2012. Please indicate clearly in which group you would like to participate.

ENTSO-E is currently in the process of undertaking scoping work on the design of the Forward Markets Network Code and the Balancing Network Code. Once these Network Codes have been developed, they will define legally binding rules for aspects of the European electricity market.
In line with the current version of the three year plan, jointly developed by the European Commission, ACER, ENTSOG and ENTSO-E, the Balancing Network Code will be developed by ENTSO-E between October 2012 and September 2013. ENTSO-E also foresees that development of the Forward Markets Network Code network code will begin in October 2012.
We also note that the workshops we are proposing to hold in respect of each code, will aim to provide information to a wider range of stakeholders. As we have done on previous network codes, we intend to use a variety of means to seek the views of interested parties. This will include bilateral meetings, open workshops and a stakeholder advisory group for each code.
