Not one but two top grades
Award for best BioTA graduates in Fellbach

Last Wednesday, the biotechnology and pharmaceutical engineering graduates of the Deutsches Erwachsenen-Bildungswerk (German Adult Education Centre) in Fellbach received their leaving certificates from principal Frank Hoppe who congratulated the 13 newly qualified pharmaceutical engineering assistants (PTA) and nine biotechnology assistants (BioTA) on their excellent performance. And because two students achieved the dream grade of 1.1, BioRegio STERN Management GmbH presented the traditional award for the top BioTA graduate not just once but twice this year.
Karoline Mattes and Charlotte Schenkel both received cheques for EUR 250 in recognition of their outstanding achievements. Given the circumstances, BioRegio STERN Managing Director Dr. Klaus Eichenberg spontaneously decided to double the prize money remarking, "Your future employers can count themselves lucky to have such highly qualified and extremely motivated assistants on their staff." The second-placed students, Julia Nosbüsch and Melanie Thumm, also achieved "very good" grades of 1.2.
The state-certified biotechnology assistants were trained in subjects such as chemistry, microbiology and information technology and underwent numerous periods of practical laboratory work. The job opportunities for BioTAs are many and varied due to the broad-based training they receive and range from the pharmaceuticals industry, research institutes, hospitals and medical laboratories to the cosmetics and foodstuffs industries. Biotechnology and pharameutical companies benefit above all from the graduates' practically relevant training.
